Community Music
For some people that we work with, therapy isn’t needed or wanted, maybe you are being discharged from music therapy and are looking for a musical alternative, or perhaps you need a music session for the place in which you work or a home hub that your child attends?
Community music with a music therapy assistant can provide a fun, engaging musical intervention and aim to get groups and individuals involved and making a noise! This could be more suitable for larger groups who are less worried about aims and tracking outcomes, like in music therapy…but who love music and still want to explore and have a good time! Some individuals will benefit from 1:1 music lessons, but have additional needs which makes accessing standard lessons more challenging…we can help with that too.
If you’ve already had an assessment for Neurologic or Standard music therapy, music therapy assistants can also complete prescribed programs with our clients, or additional sessions if the client is looking for a higher amount of input! These programs are written and adapted by a qualified therapist but with the assistant supporting the client within the therapeutic sessions.
All of our community musicians and music therapy assistants are supervised by a music therapist on our team, which means that they get the support that they need to engage with your setting, as well as therapeutic ideas for activities that everyone will enjoy.
